Strong Foundations
Age-appropriate instruction that gives dancers the technique and confidence to keep growing.
Our Story
Legacy Performing Arts carries forward nearly three decades of dance education, community, and tradition that began as Commerce School of Dance.
Our Legacy
In September 1995, Kim Sellars opened Commerce School of Dance and began a tradition of teaching and encouraging generations of local dancers.
In 2024, Carson Bridges Pruitt, Miss UGA 2024, became the studio's new owner, returning to the place where her own love for dance began and taking on the responsibility of carrying that vision forward as Legacy Performing Arts.
Meet Carson
Carson graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science, completed a minor in dance, and trained as a level-three ballerina. Her dance background also includes a summer with Joffrey Ballet and performance experience in roles including Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, Ballerina Dolls, and Spanish in The Nutcracker.
While at UGA, Carson was part of the Georgettes and Red Hotz competitive club dance teams. As Miss UGA 2024, she also represented the University of Georgia on the Miss Georgia stage.
Legacy's current chapter is guided by Carson's love of dance, love of children, and a vision for every dancer to feel seen, encouraged, and supported as they grow in technique, confidence, dedication, and their love of performing.
